February 2022 - EDCTP approved a no-cost extension of TB TRIAGE+ from 4 to 5 years.
At the same time, our project amendment was accepted, allowing us to conduct the main study
(TB TRIAGE+ TRIAL) with an improved design

Consortium Meeting

01 June 2021 - The first virtual TB
TRIAGE+ annual meeting of the consortium took place today. Consortium members reported remarkable progress despite challenges from COVID-19. We had fruitful discussions with the Scientific Advisory Board about the design of the upcoming community trial.

Trial start in South Africa

08 April 2021 - Great news!
The TB TRIAGE+ ACCURACY clinical trial has also started in Caluza, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
Today, the first patient was recruited by the Human Sciences Research Council team.

Trial start in Lesotho

16 February 2021 - We are excited to announce that the TB TRIAGE+ ACCURACY clinical trial on the evaluation of new triage tests (CRP and CAD4TB) for diagnosis of tuberculosis is launched!
The first patient has been enrolled at our study site in Butha-Buthe in Lesotho by the SolidarMed team .

TB TRIAGE+ training in Lesotho

16 November 2020 - The Lesotho SolidarMed team has started training on GCP, study protocol and various diagnostic tests in preparation for the TB TRIAGE+ ACCURACY trial.

Ethics submissions

Swissethics (EKNZ) has approved the protocol of the TB TRIAGE+ ACCURACY trial and the VISITECT Advanced HIV study on 12 August 2020. The study dossiers will be now submitted to the ethics boards in Lesotho and South Africa.

Kick-off meeting

Human Sciences Research Council was hosting the TB TRIAGE+ kick-off meeting on 15 February 2020 in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, followed by a visit to the SolidarMed site in Butha Buthe, Lesotho.
Thanks to the entire TB TRIAGE+ team, the Scientific Advisory Board, the Lesotho TB Program Manager and our EDCTP officer!

Project management training

Members of the TB TRIAGE+ teams from SolidarMed and HSRC have attended the Financial and Project Management workshop, which took place in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 21 and 22 November 2019.
